The goal of less plastic in my life.
Easy to say, but how could it work on a day to day basis?
When I travel to the supermarket I am astonished by how many people still ask and accept without hesitation plastic bags. They either have no clue about the plastic waste problem of our society, or they don’t care. I mean get a grip, they could look so much better with a fashionable re-usable shopping bag. So I see this reality and it is sad. The solution, the only way out of it is to be more educated about our global waste situation.
On the other hand I am so very happy that more and more cities have established
(or are in the progress of doing so) is to place a ban on single use plastic bags and containers.
YEEHAA …I think this is going in the right direction.
Let us all look for answers to reduce the waste. Each and everyone has a choice.
If you make the green choice, and your friends and families all start to make greener choices we together can start this change
What can we do as a single responsible human that the amount of plastic
and their attached industries step back?
The first thing would be, to make a promise to yourself by keeping in mind:
I know that plastic never goes away. It is not biodegradable!
I know that plastic pollutes the environment, threatens wildlife and puts all creatures of the ocean in jeopardy.
I know that plastic spoils our groundwater, because most of the plastic ends up in landfills
and eventually all the toxic chemicals which where used to create plastic
will end up in our groundwater, river and lakes.
Make a commitment and become an activist of your own mission:
I say no to single use plastic products and get my self a stylish re-usable alternative.
I encourage my friends and family to do the same.
I recycle all plastics which can be recycled. ( I get information about recyclable plastics from my local recycling center)
I choose products made out of alternative. more sustainable materials.
